Job Summary

We are seeking a Medical Records Clerk to join our team. As a Medical Records Clerk, you will be responsible for accurately filing records into the patient electronic health record in a timely manner, ensuring proper routing to the provider for review and signature.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receives, sorts, and distributes records received in the department in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Accurately scans and files records in the electronic health record daily, ensuring medical records and other documents are available to clinical staff in a timely manner.
  • Receives and follows work schedule/instructions from the supervisor and adheres to established policies and procedures.
  • Assists in developing procedures to ensure records are properly completed, assembled, indexed, etc., before filing to the electronic health record.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality by keeping patient record information confidential.
  • Serves and protects the clinic community by adhering to professional standards, clinic policies and procedures, and federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Enhances department and clinic reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player.
  • Communicates with coworkers and with clinical staff in a professional manner.
