Position Overview

The Infection Control Practitioner is responsible for gathering and evaluating relevant data to identify risk factors linked to hospital-acquired infections.

Utilizing epidemiological insights, this role involves the planning, execution, monitoring, and assessment of infection control strategies to ensure quality, appropriateness of care, and ongoing performance enhancement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource and consultant within the healthcare facility and the broader community regarding disease transmission, isolation protocols, infection risks, and effective strategies for risk mitigation.
Educational Requirements

Bachelor's Degree: Required fields include Microbiology, Medical Technology, Nursing, or a Master's Degree in Public Health.

Experience Requirements

A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care environment or 2 years as a Medical Technologist in clinical microbiology, or a Master of Public Health in a related field is required.

Licenses/Certifications

Certification in Infection Control (CIC) is preferred.
