Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food and Nutrition Services Manager to join our team at North Mississippi Health Services. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating quality Food and Nutrition Services activities in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management
    • Supervise and manage the responsibilities of the Food and Nutrition Department, ensuring accurate, timely, and cost-effective delivery of services.
    • Develop and implement evaluation systems to monitor services provided by the Food and Nutrition Department, including nutritional adequacy, consumer acceptance, and quality control.
  • Quality Assurance
    • Inspect the quality, quantity, temperature, and appearance of food before it is served, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
    • Implement and maintain quality control measures to prevent foodborne illnesses and ensure a safe food environment.
  • Staff Management
    • Recruit, orient, train, counsel, and schedule personnel to ensure adequate staffing levels and skill sets.
    • Provide motivation and inspiration to Food and Nutrition Staff, promoting a positive and productive work environment.
  • Administrative Duties
    • Prepare and monitor departmental goals, budget, and performance improvement activities.
    • Assist with orientation and inservice training, and participate in required educational programs.
Requirements
  • Education
    • High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent
  • Experience
    • Previous experience in food service, preferably in a hospital setting.
    • Previous supervisory experience, preferably in Food and Nutrition.
  • Skills
    • Good communication skills to effectively supervise and communicate with inter- and intra-departmental employees, patients, and their family members, physicians, and public.
