Job Summary


In keeping with the health care philosophy of our organization, the Pharmacist is responsible for procuring, manufacturing, compounding, dispensing, distributing, storing, and administration of drugs, biologicals, and chemicals according to standard practices, professional, state, and federal laws and regulations, and departmental policies and procedures. The Pharmacist is also responsible for providing drug information to other health professionals, patients, and their families, and the public.


Responsibilities


The Pharmacist will be responsible for:



  • Procuring, manufacturing, compounding, dispensing, distributing, storing, and administering drugs, biologicals, and chemicals according to standard practices, professional, state, and federal laws and regulations, and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Providing drug information to other health professionals, patients, and their families, and the public.

Qualifications


The ideal candidate will have:



  • Two years of hospital experience with participation in a clinical program, if no residency.
  • Two years of managing and overseeing pharmacy technicians.
  • Graduation from an accredited school of pharmacy.
  • A Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
  • A current and valid California Pharmacist license.
  • Preferred requirements include residency (ASHP) accredited and excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

Working Conditions


The Pharmacist will be required to work different shifts, days, and areas as necessary to meet departmental needs, and participate in the on-call rotation, taking call on nights as necessary.
