Clinical Documentation Specialist

Job Summary:

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Clinical Documentation Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in clinical documentation improvement and a strong understanding of healthcare data quality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert-level review of inpatient clinical records
  • Identify gaps in clinical documentation and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to improve data quality and accuracy
  • Utilize Optum CDI 3D technology to document clarification activity
Requirements:
  • Medical degree (MD or MBBS) with CDI experience or registered nurse (RN) with an active, unrestricted RN license in CA
  • 5+ years of clinical experience
  • Proficiency in using a PC in a Windows environment, including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Records
Work Environment:

This position is based in San Luis Obispo, CA and requires full-time, on-site work at a hospital location.
