Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled CAD Engineer to lead our Hardware Emulation methodologies and workflow for CPU and SOC teams at Qualcomm. As a key member of our Engineering Group, you will work closely with cross-functional teams and external vendors to define, drive, and incorporate the latest design solutions in the emulation domain.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and apply Computer Aided Design (CAD) software engineering methods, theories, and research techniques to investigate and solve technical problems.
  • Modify and/or develop complex tools and workflows that improve productivity and efficiency of design teams.
  • Provide timely and accurate responses to questions and issues from customers (e.g., design engineers).
  • Perform root cause analyses on complex customer problems to identify underlying issues and interact with external vendors.
  • Maximize the utilization of emulation and FPGA-based prototyping infrastructure while maintaining stability and meeting resource sharing constraints.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 5+ years of Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
  • PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in the field of Hardware Emulation.
  • 5+ years of experience in CAD tool/flow development.
  • 4+ years of experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Python, etc.
  • 4+ years of experience with scripting and automation environments.
  • 2+ years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership (e.g., Director level and above).
  • 1+ years in a technical leadership role with or without direct reports.
