Job Title: Sr. CAD Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. CAD Engineer to join our team at Q-Cells. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing high-quality, high-speed, low-noise analog, digital, and mixed-signal printed circuit boards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design single-sided, double-sided, and multi-layered PCBs using industry-standard techniques, ensuring consideration for DFM/DFT has been made.
  • Responsible for completing PCB designs in accordance with agreed project time, cost, quality, and performance requirements.
  • Work closely with EE Engineers to develop Schematics and CAD library administration, including symbol, footprint generation, and database administration.
  • Creation and maintenance of 3D models and assemblies from 2D layouts.
  • Liaise with the manufacturing team for the transfer of documentation.
  • Contribute to continual process improvement within the PCB layout function.
  • Ability to follow and comply with the company's internal safety policies as well as external regulatory agencies.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and an ability to work cooperatively with others.
  • Ability to work prioritize workload, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Flexible and adaptable to fast-paced changing environments.
  • Attention to detail, a high level of accuracy, self-motivation, and the ability to plan and organize own tasks.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of PCB layout experience.
  • Degree or equivalent within an Engineering/Electronics-based subject.
  • Thorough understanding of power electronic principles.
  • Experience of mains potential voltages and high currents for PCB design.
  • Extensive knowledge in using Cadence Orcad & Alegro schematic capture and layout creation tools.
  • Knowledge of PCB manufacturing process and manipulation of Gerber files.
  • Knowledge of IPC Standards.
  • High speed layout techniques for differential pair and serial communications.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and editing BOMs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Layout experience in the industry of solar, electric vehicle, and industrial drives.
  • Basic knowledge of power electronics and power conversion topologies.
  • Experience in RF circuit design and transmission line techniques for PCBs.

The salary range for this position is required by the California Pay Transparency Act and may differ depending on the location of those candidates hired nationwide. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to, skill set, education, licenses and certifications, essential job duties and requirements, and the necessary experience relative to the job's minimum qualifications.
