Role Summary:

The Optometrist will conduct comprehensive evaluations for Veterans, facilitating the completion of necessary documentation for health benefits eligibility. This role requires delivering high-quality optometric care and thorough assessments of visual health.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed vision examinations.
  • Utilize advanced ophthalmologic equipment to perform necessary tests.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations and standards in optometry.
  • Provide exceptional patient care and support throughout all interactions.
  • Accurately complete and submit required documentation, including health assessments.

Qualifications:

Licensure: Must possess an active and unrestricted Optometry license (consideration for ophthalmology license may be given).

Education: A Bachelor’s degree in a related field along with a Doctor of Optometry degree is required.

Experience: A minimum of one year of experience in conducting optometric examinations is preferred.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in using Electronic Health Records systems.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams).

Work Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, with flexible shift options available.
  • No weekend or holiday shifts required.

Additional Requirements:

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Immunization Requirements:

  • Recent TB Screening.
  • Hepatitis B Titers.

Recommended Immunizations:

  • COVID-19 vaccination and boosters.
  • MMR Titers.
  • Varicella Titers.
  • TDAP Immunization.
  • Seasonal Flu Immunization.
