Project Controls Specialist

Join a dynamic team at Burns & McDonnell as an Assistant Project Controls Specialist, supporting all aspects of project controls and reporting. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical and communication skills to work with project teams, ensuring seamless execution of projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in setting up projects in Enterprise Planning & Controls software.
  • Input data, maintain logs, and run reports in the software or other tools.
  • Collaborate on creating Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) for projects.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain scheduling reports, cost reports, cash flows, and forecasts for small projects.
  • Ensure adherence to project execution plans and coordinate with teams.
  • Review and approve Purchase Orders and/or Subcontracts for accurate coding.
  • Document changes to cost reports or forecasts and facilitate upstream/downstream change orders.
  • Develop cash flow projections and assist in resource loading schedules.
  • Coordinate project schedules and develop scheduling reports.
  • Retrieve, review, and distribute pre-programmed scheduling reports with backup documentation.
  • Update and document schedule progress and verify progress measurements.
  • Develop and maintain earned value management systems and progress curves.
  • Conduct quality checks and inspections on project controls deliverables and perform field audits to validate accuracy of reporting and processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Applicable experience may be substituted for degree requirement.
  • Oracle Primavera P6 experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • OSHA 10-hour safety certification (ability to obtain).
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
  • Involvement on campus or in the community preferred.

Estimated Salary Range

$55,000 - $75,000 per year, based on location and qualifications.
