About the Role

The Mechanical Engineer II is a key member of our product development team, responsible for driving the successful introduction of REP's products. This role requires a strong background in design and manufacturing, with the ability to lead projects from concept to launch.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead assigned projects to completion with full ownership and minimal oversight.
  • Create detailed CAD models in SolidWorks, including part and assembly level documentation.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers to define customer requirements.
  • Schedule and lead effective meetings with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to set and achieve milestones and deadlines independently.
  • Lead design reviews for Engineer I team members and help foster growth.
  • Complete mastery of product portfolio and/or introduction of new product line.
  • Complete the artifacts as laid out in the Marketing Requirements Document.
  • Perform tolerance analysis on critical-to-function design elements.
  • Develop a strong voice when working with manufacturing partners to communicate design intent and quality expectations.
  • Complete invention disclosure forms for intellectual property review.
  • Visit manufacturers at suitable times to review prototypes and samples, project/product schedule, and quality expectations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering field.
  • Minimum 3 years of engineering experience and demonstrated track record of excellence in product design and development in consumer products.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
  • Ability to apply first principles to engineering problems including stress, strain, deflection, and safety factors.
  • SolidWorks, PDM, Microsoft Office, MathCAD, 3D printing, Free body diagrams.
