The Medical Technologist (ASCP) performs accurate, precise, and timely patient test results for the diagnosis and management of human illness. Utilizes automation, computerization, and manual methods. Responsible for quality control and instrument operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handles blood, tissue, fecal matter, sputum, urine, spinal fluid, and other bodily fluids.
- Specimens may be contaminated with infectious diseases, including HIV and other blood-borne pathogens.
Requirements:
- Associate's Degree in Applied Sciences.
- MLT - Medical Laboratory Technologist Certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology.
Preferred Skills:
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Proficient in computer skills.
- Strong communication skills.
Work Environment:
Evening shifts.
