About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Legislative Officer to join our team at the Ohio Department of Medicaid. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in shaping the agency's legislative strategy and advocating for the needs of our consumers, providers, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the agency's legislative strategy, working closely with the Director and other senior leaders to advance our mission and vision.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including lawmakers, advocacy groups, and other government agencies.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on legislative matters, ensuring that the agency's interests are represented and protected.
  • Collaborate with other departments and agencies to advance our legislative priorities and build coalitions to support our goals.
  • Develop and manage complex projects, working with cross-functional teams to achieve timely and effective results.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in legislative affairs, public policy, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of success in developing and implementing legislative strategies, building relationships with key stakeholders, and providing expert advice and guidance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in a related field.
