Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Client Care Specialist to join our team at Banfield. As a key member of our hospital team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional client service and ensuring the smooth flow of clients and pets through our hospital.

  • About the Role:
  • In this role, you will act as a liaison between our veterinary medical team and clients, promoting hospital services and coordinating care to ensure superior client experiences.
  • You will work closely with our veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and other support staff to provide top-notch care to our patients and their owners.
  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Recruit new clients by promoting hospital services and routing the flow of clients and pets to ensure superior client care and maximum productivity of the veterinary medical team.
  • Maximize the number of pets seen by the hospital team through a productive and efficiently run hospital to support the needs of our wellness plan clients.
  • Provide professional, efficient, and exceptional service at all times, including welcoming clients and pets, ensuring they are comfortable in the hospital, and educating them about their pet's health.
  • Educate clients about Optimum Wellness Plans, preventative care, pet health needs, and hospital services.
  • Assist incoming clients by completing required documentation, entering all pet information and history in the computer, utilizing proper collars and tags for identification, and ensuring prompt service.
  • Assist outgoing clients by providing all necessary instructions, information, and invoices, dispensing prescription items per the veterinarian's instructions, selling retail products, and scheduling future appointments.
  • Requirements:
  • A strong ability to multi-task, manage multiple tasks at one time, and quickly and accurately shift attention among multiple tasks under distracting conditions without loss of accuracy or appearance of frustration.
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to read, write, and speak fluent English using appropriate grammar, style, and vocabulary.
  • A systematic approach in carrying out assignments, with the ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems, translating problems into practical solutions.
  • The ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers, with accuracy and consistency in following instructions delivered in an oral, written, or diagram format.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate's degree or higher is preferred.
  • Previous experience in customer service, preferably in a veterinary setting, is highly desirable.
