Position Overview:
This is a temporary faculty role within the Sciences division for the academic year. The successful candidate will instruct a minimum of 15 credit hours per semester in college-level biology courses, catering to a diverse student body through various teaching methods (online, in-person, hybrid).
Teaching Duties:
Off-Campus Dual Enrollment Courses:
BIO 111:
Lecture on Mondays from 2:00-4:40 PM at the dual enrollment location; Lab on Saturdays from 10:00-11:50 AM at the main campus.
BIO 109 (Fall) / Bio 117 (Spring): Flexible scheduling, tentatively: MW 7:44-9:14 AM, 9:18-10:48 AM, 11:21 AM-12:51 PM, or 12:55-2:25 PM.
This course will be conducted entirely offsite at our dual enrollment location.Additional courses will likely be taught at the main campus, though other locations may be assigned based on institutional needs.
Responsibilities Include:
Full-Time Faculty Duties:
Conducting formal course instruction for 15 credit hours of Biology lecture and lab courses;
Preparing and planning for assigned classes in alignment with course objectives;
Grading examinations and other student assignments;
Holding student conferences to discuss individual progress;
Participating in faculty meetings and institutional events;
The College reserves the right to assign other relevant professional responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications:
A Master's degree in Biology or a related field with a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in Biology.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in secondary education or community college teaching, with graduate coursework in education and biology. Familiarity with diverse teaching modalities in biology education. Experience working with high school students and teaching Non-STEM biology, as well as Anatomy and Physiology.
