Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Oversee data collection, analytical assessments, and benchmarking while providing expert guidance on various accounting technical matters, including leases, impairment, contingencies, revenue recognition, segment reporting, share-based compensation, fair value measurements, investments, debt, and acquisitions.
- Manage monthly and quarterly reporting processes, including the preparation of account reconciliations, conducting account analyses, and creating journal entries.
- Contribute to the preparation of financial statements (Form 10-K and Form 10-Q) along with associated footnote disclosures.
- Support various financial and operational initiatives, including budgeting and the preparation or review of variance analyses, comparing actual results to budgeted figures.
- Conduct contract evaluations to identify potential accounting issues.
- Draft whitepapers documenting the analysis of technical accounting issues.
- Collaborate with business units to gather data, resolve potential issues, and identify opportunities for financial reporting and operational efficiencies across the organization.
- Review accounting policies and assist in their implementation.
- Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
- Ensure adherence to SOX requirements, US GAAP, and company policies.
- Assist in the periodic evaluation of internal control design, operation, and documentation for assigned processes.
- Support internal and external auditors during financial audits, SOX audits, and operational audits for designated processes and areas.
- Conduct ad-hoc research, data analysis, and departmental financial planning as needed.
- Bachelor's degree required; CPA preferred.
- A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, ideally within public accounting and the pharmaceutical, biotech, or high-tech sectors.
- Strong understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP), auditing principles, COSO, and Sarbanes-Oxley.
- Familiarity with software applications such as:
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Microsoft 365 or equivalent ERP systems
- Workiva
- Adaptive
- Ability to extract relevant data from ERP systems or other sources to support the aforementioned duties, with comfort in handling large datasets.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
- Capacity to perform well under tight deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively while maintaining high ethical standards of integrity and quality.
