Job Summary

The Product Marketing Assistant is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations of the Product Manager(s). This role will be an integral part of the promotion and growth of designated product lines. A successful candidate will have a good business acumen and understand the basics of B2B selling.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist with knowledge of supplier policies, procedures, contacts, and products.
  • Be trained as a backup point of contact to the Product Manager.
  • Cross-train with other Product Marketing Assistants to expand supplier and product knowledge.
  • Respond to quote requests in a timely manner.
  • Communicate challenging issues to the Product Manager in real-time.
  • Run Expired Ship and Debit reports to renew supplier contracts monthly.
  • Load vendor contracts in a timely manner.
  • Create supplier bill of materials (templates) as required.
  • Update supplier pricing and lead times as necessary.
  • Process sample requests as required.
  • Assist the Product Marketing Manager and Product Managers on special projects.
  • Assist with open Quote Accelerator requests.
  • Communicate with the QA coordinator as needed.
Education/Experience:

An Associate degree (A.A.) from a four-year college or university, or two plus years related sales/marketing experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in electronic component distribution sales or a closely related field is preferred.

Skills and Requirements:
  • Must be a US Citizen due to Naval Contractual Agreements.
  • Must be able to report to the Lumberton, NJ office during scheduled in-office workdays.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook) at the intermediate level is preferred.

Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.

Customer Service:

Ability to nurture and grow key supplier relationships with timely responses to requests for service and assistance.

Business Acumen:

Understand basic business implications of decisions; maintain appropriate focus on profitability; keep abreast of the market and the competition.

Communications:

Effectively communicate messages both verbally and in writing; capable of persuasively working with suppliers in both positive and negative situations; a good listener with the ability to keep emotions under control.

Planning & Organization:

Ability to establish a clear plan of action and direct and manage execution of the plan to achieve intended results.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to stand, sit, use computers, read, write, type, use copy machines, file paperwork, use telephones, and utilize written and oral communication to interact with clients, co-workers, and customers. Working Conditions:

Position is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work).
