Summary:

This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including benefits management, employee engagement, training initiatives, performance evaluation, onboarding processes, policy enforcement, recruitment, workers' compensation, affirmative action, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute routine tasks essential for administering and implementing human resource programs, which include, but are not limited to, compensation, benefits, leave management, disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, performance and talent management, workplace safety, and employee development.
  • Participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, recommending best practices; review policies and procedures to maintain compliance.
  • Stay informed on trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and advancements in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Manage the recruitment process, including interviewing and facilitating the hiring of qualified candidates for open positions; collaborate with departmental leaders to identify required skills and competencies; draft job descriptions and advertisements.
  • Conduct or arrange for background checks and drug screenings for new hires and rehires.
  • Monitor, track, and document compliance with mandatory and optional training programs.
  • Address employment and benefits-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors.
  • Oversee the administration of the company's health and ancillary benefits, along with the 401K retirement plan.
  • Maintain human resources information system records and generate reports from the database.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of HR experience, or a master's degree in HR Management with 2 years of HR experience, or 7 years of HR experience, or a comparable combination of education and experience.
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification is preferred.
  • Experience in HR with crew labor is advantageous.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is strongly preferred.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel locally to other EarthBalance offices is required.
