We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Associate to join our team at Mass General Brigham. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the implementation of patient care plans under the direction of a registered nurse.
- Provide physical care to patients, including bed baths, toileting, grooming, and changing bed linens, in accordance with established guidelines.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and blood glucose levels, and perform other monitoring activities as required.
- Prepare patients for meals and assist with feeding as needed.
- Perform patient rounds and respond promptly to call lights to meet patients' needs.
- Document patient care in a timely and accurate manner, adhering to established standards.
- Organize patient rooms to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Collect and label specimens in accordance with established procedures.
- Provide mentoring and teaching to new nursing assistants to ensure they meet performance expectations.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Recent experience and/or training in clinical patient care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Healthcare Provider CPR certification.
This role requires:
- Standing and walking for extended periods.
- Use of hands and fingers to perform fine motor tasks.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move patients and equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
- Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
This role requires working in a healthcare environment with exposure to:
- Blood and bodily fluids.
- Chemicals and cleaning agents.
- Electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Lab animals and infectious diseases.
