Job Summary

This role is responsible for overseeing the Produce team's daily operations, ensuring profitability and expense control. As a leader, you will be accountable for hiring, developing, and managing team members to deliver exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead by example, demonstrating outstanding teamwork and mutual respect.
  • Hire and separate team members based on performance and company needs.
  • Monitor and achieve sales, purchasing, and labor targets.
  • Maintain proper product assortment, merchandising, and inventory control.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with department leaders and vendors.
  • Stay up-to-date with competitor trends and industry developments.
  • Set high standards for retail execution and foster a positive work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, responding promptly to customer needs and questions.
  • Select, train, develop, and mentor team members to sustain a high-performance team.
  • Provide timely performance evaluations and consistently model WFM vision and goals.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Advanced knowledge of products, buying, pricing, merchandising, and inventory management.
  • Food safety certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months.
  • Excellent interpersonal, motivational, team-building, and customer relationship skills.
  • Ability to teach others in a positive and constructive manner.
  • Proficient mathematical skills for assessing financial performance and managing inventory.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, decision-making ability, and prioritization and delegation capabilities.
  • Proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and operations-related applications.
Experience and Physical Requirements
  • 24+ months of retail experience, including 12+ months of team leadership experience.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds, stand/walk for 6-8 hours, and perform tasks that require bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
  • Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals and temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Ability to work in a wet and cold environment and use tools and equipment as needed.
Estimated Salary Range

$65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
