JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION SUMMARY

The Tucker Wellness and Rehabilitation Center, a skilled nursing facility, is in search of a qualified Nutritional Culinary Specialist. This role involves preparing meals that adhere to the dietary specifications of residents, following facility protocols, and complying with health and safety regulations under the guidance of the Dietary Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

The facility emphasizes a collaborative environment among staff and a welcoming atmosphere for residents. The following duties are essential but not exhaustive:

  1. Prepare and cook meals in accordance with the menu and the number of residents served.
  2. Utilize proper cooking methods and temperatures to ensure optimal food quality and yield.
  3. Maintain cleanliness of the work area and equipment in line with sanitation standards.
  4. Evaluate all prepared foods for taste, aroma, and visual appeal to ensure compliance with recipes.
  5. Ensure timely meal preparation to meet scheduled serving times.
  6. Serve meals according to dietary guidelines, verifying the accuracy and completeness of each tray.
  7. Monitor portion sizes to minimize food waste while adhering to individual dietary needs.
  8. Prepare meals for staff, visitors, and special events as directed.
  9. Adhere to planned menus and dietary plans, ensuring compliance with recipes and temperature control procedures.
  10. Inspect special diet trays to confirm that the correct diet is provided to each resident.
  11. Participate in educational programs to fulfill facility training requirements.
  12. Understand and implement Standard Precautions and Emergency Procedures.
  13. Maintain confidentiality regarding resident and facility information.
  14. Safeguard residents from neglect and mistreatment.
  15. Protect the personal belongings of residents.
  16. Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates should possess:

  • Experience in large-scale food preparation.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication abilities, along with self-discipline and patience.
  • A genuine interest in caring for elderly and disabled individuals.
  • Compliance with residents' rights and facility policies.
  • The ability to perform essential duties as outlined.
