Position: Cold Kitchen Cook
We are seeking a skilled cold kitchen cook, also known as a garde manger, who can operate efficiently with minimal oversight. Your primary duties will include stocking, preparing, and measuring various condiments, as well as chopping, dicing, and mixing ingredients for culinary creations. Adherence to safety protocols is essential, along with maintaining a clean and sanitized workstation throughout your shift.
Proficiency in reading recipe instructions and labels in English is required, as is the ability to operate a range of kitchen equipment, including sharp knives and measuring tools. The role involves some physical activity, including lifting, pulling, and bending. While prior kitchen experience and a 2-year associate's degree are preferred, they are not mandatory. Compensation:$15.50 per hour
Key Responsibilities:- Comprehend recipe instructions, measurements, meal charts, and labels in English, utilizing all measuring tools accurately.
- Maintain organization in all preparation and workstation areas, ensuring equipment is hygienic and sanitized at the end of your shift.
- Follow COVID-19 safety protocols in all food preparation areas and adhere to food safety guidelines within the kitchen.
- Prepare, sort, wash, slice, and measure ingredients for recipes, including condiments, vegetables, and proteins, as well as mixing sauces for various dishes.
- Support fellow kitchen staff as needed in preparing simple recipes, such as soups, sauce reductions, and brewing beverages.
- Experienced in the safe handling of kitchen equipment, including sharp knives and other culinary tools.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks, including lifting 35-50 pounds.
- Some experience in food preparation and the capability to work under the direction of the head chef or cook with limited supervision.
- Availability to work weekends and holidays, with a willingness to take on additional hours as necessary.
- While kitchen experience and an associate's degree (AA) or equivalent are preferred, they are not required.
Tucker Brewing Company is a family-owned and operated establishment located in an industrial park.
