POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary role involves delivering high-quality radiotherapy services, ensuring patient safety and satisfaction while collaborating effectively with the healthcare team. This position focuses on both curative and palliative treatment approaches.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Quality Assurance:

  • Administers precise and timely radiotherapy in accordance with physician directives and treatment objectives, adhering to professional standards and maintaining thorough documentation.
  • Ensures accuracy and completeness of all portal imaging data, as verified through regular chart reviews.

Patient Experience:

  • Contributes to the Radiation Oncology team by fulfilling quality assurance tasks and compliance-related assignments accurately and punctually, as evidenced by consistent documentation.

Resource Management:

  • Conducts precise simulations using appropriate positioning techniques, ensuring comprehensive documentation of all relevant data, as reflected in simulation images and initial chart reviews.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduation from an accredited Radiation Therapy program.
  • Possession of a valid Florida State Radiation Therapist License.
  • ARRT certification or eligibility as a Radiation Therapist.
  • Current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Completion Card required prior to employment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients and colleagues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficient in prioritizing tasks to enhance quality, value, and service delivery.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Capability to engage in walking, bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting throughout the workday.
  • Ability to assist in moving, lifting, or positioning patients as necessary.
  • Competence in pushing wheelchair or stretcher-bound patients.
  • Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination essential for performing technical and clinical tasks.
  • Capacity to lift up to 40 pounds independently, multiple times daily.

MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Aptitude for functioning in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to respond effectively to critical situations.
  • Skills in assessing and interpreting data while educating patients and their families across various age groups and comprehension levels.
  • Willingness to share knowledge and collaborate with students and colleagues.
  • Flexibility to adapt to varying work schedules and responsibilities.
