POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary role involves delivering exceptional care through the accurate administration of radiotherapy, aimed at curative or palliative outcomes, in collaboration with the healthcare team.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Quality Assurance:

  • Administers precise and timely radiotherapy in alignment with the physician's directives and treatment objectives, adhering to professional standards and documenting in accordance with departmental protocols, as evidenced by chart evaluations.
  • Ensures comprehensive and accurate data on all portal images, as verified through weekly chart assessments.

Customer Experience:

  • As an integral member of the Radiation Oncology team, fulfills all quality assurance tasks and other responsibilities related to regulatory compliance (Federal, State, ACR, OSHA, FDA, etc.) with accuracy and completeness, as demonstrated by routine documentation.

Stewardship:

  • Conducts precise simulations utilizing appropriate positioning and techniques, ensuring thorough documentation of all relevant data, as reflected in Simulation Images, QA, and Initial Chart Review.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Graduate from an accredited Radiation Therapy program.
  • Current licensure as a Radiation Therapist in the state of Florida.
  • ARRT certification or eligibility as a Radiation Therapist.
  • Must possess a current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to commencement and maintain it.
  • Exhibits strong interpersonal skills with customers and staff.
  • Demonstrates effective oral and written communication abilities.
  • Capable of prioritizing and organizing tasks to enhance quality, value, and service.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to engage in a combination of walking, bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting throughout the workday.
  • Capacity to move, lift, or position patients to achieve the necessary positioning.
  • Ability to assist wheelchair or stretcher-bound patients.
  • Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination essential for performing technical and clinical tasks.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted multiple times daily.

MENTAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to function effectively in a high-pressure environment.
  • Capacity to respond to critical situations.
  • Adept at assessing, interpreting data, and educating patients and family members of diverse ages and comprehension levels.
  • Ability to collaborate and share knowledge with students and colleagues.
