Staff Chassis Controls Integration Specialist

We are seeking an innovative and detail-oriented Chassis Controls Integration Engineer to join our engineering team at Ford Motor Company. In this role, you will be responsible for integrating and optimizing chassis control systems, including braking, suspension, and stability control, to enhance vehicle dynamics and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- System Integration: Integrate chassis control systems into vehicle platforms, collaborating with electrical, mechanical, and software teams to ensure seamless integration of hardware and software components.
- Calibration and Tuning: Develop and fine-tune calibration parameters for optimal chassis control system performance across various driving conditions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with vehicle dynamics, powertrain, and safety teams to ensure chassis systems integration aligns with overall vehicle performance goals.
- Software and Controls Development: Contribute to the development and refinement of control algorithms for chassis systems.
- Design: Work with design and development engineers to ensure park brake functions and components have appropriate requirements and interface definition.
- Functional Safety: Participate in functional safety and failure avoidance analysis of complex electrical and software vehicle subsystems.
- Testing and Validation: Design and execute test plans for chassis control systems, analyzing test data to identify performance issues and develop corrective measures.
- Benchmarking: Lead assessments of reference vehicle chassis systems, conducting instrumented vehicle testing for acceleration, braking, steering, ride, and handling.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure chassis control systems meet all relevant safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest advancements in chassis control technologies and integrate innovative solutions into vehicle systems.
Requirements
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Embedded Systems.
- Strong Electrical and Embedded Systems Engineering fundamentals.
- 3+ years of experience in automotive engineering with a focus on chassis control systems.
- Proven experience in integrating and calibrating chassis control systems.
- 5+ years of experience with Vehicle Network Protocols such as CAN, LIN, and Automotive Ethernet.
