Steering System Integration and Controls Development

As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in the integration and calibration of Electronic Power Assisted Steering (EPAS) systems in various vehicle platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

Integrate EPAS hardware and software components into vehicle platforms.

Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and software teams to ensure seamless system integration.

Contribute to the development and enhancement of control algorithms for EPAS systems, ensuring proper calibration and tuning for various vehicle dynamics.

Work with design and development engineers to ensure steering functions and components have appropriate requirements and interface definitions to achieve specific vehicle functions.

Participate in functional safety and failure avoidance analysis of complex electrical and software vehicle subsystems (HARA, FMEAs, etc.).

Develop and refine calibration parameters for optimal EPAS performance across different driving conditions and vehicle types.

Create and own steering HIL test setups to bench test firmware, seeking bugs and regressions. Proficient with D-space, Vector HIL, CAPL, and Python scripting.

Design and execute comprehensive test plans for EPAS systems, including lab-based and on-road testing. Analyze data to identify performance issues and develop solutions.

Requirements:

B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Embedded Systems.

Strong Electrical and Embedded Systems Engineering fundamentals.

3+ years of experience in automotive engineering with a focus on EPAS systems.

Proven experience in integrating and calibrating EPAS or similar automotive control systems.

5+ years of experience with Vehicle Network Protocols such as CAN, LIN, and Automotive Ethernet.

Proficiency in using calibration tools and software (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink, CANalyzer).

Experience and working knowledge of systems development, vehicle architecture, emerging chassis system technologies, software/hardware tool development, brakes, and steering system calibration, functional safety, network, and diagnostics process.

5+ years of experience designing and developing safety-critical architectures.

3+ years of experience using embedded networking interface tools for automotive, aerospace, or similar.

5+ years of experience in designing and launching new embedded products from concept to production.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Willingness to travel for testing and collaboration with other teams.

Valid driver's license and the ability to drive test vehicles.
