Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team at ECHN. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our healthcare providers in delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet patients and prepare them for physician examination, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience.
  • Keep patient charts up-to-date and accurate, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
  • Document all sample medication dispensed and provide oversight to vaccine programs, following state guidelines.
  • Restock exam rooms with necessary supplies, ensuring a clean and organized environment.
  • Perform EKG and Spirometry as ordered, and report lab results to patients, following up with physician instructions as needed.
  • Answer pharmacy requests for prescription refills, prepare specimens for testing, and instruct patients on sterile urine specimen collection.
  • Maintain work areas in a neat and organized manner, adhering to CLIA regulations.
  • Participate in Patient Centered Medical Home Care Team collaborations, and may be required to float to other offices or perform other duties as requested by management.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, and one of the following: completed a Medical Assistant program, certification/registration as an MA, or 5+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
  • Previous experience working in a medical facility is preferred.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, confidential medical environment, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Ability to lift, care, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight, and operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination.
