Job Overview:


The Facilities Operations Manager is accountable for overseeing all maintenance operations, leading the team, and ensuring that projects are effectively scheduled and executed as instructed.

This role also encompasses the management of facility enhancement and expansion initiatives at the designated location.

Primary Responsibilities:

Key Tasks/Duties:


Provide leadership and daily oversight of the team, including task scheduling, daily assignments, performance evaluations, goal setting, and the establishment of departmental performance metrics and client support standards (KPIs). Coordinate training for the maintenance team and serve as a subject matter expert for team members.

Engage in strategic planning for future facility projects, facilitating and coordinating maintenance-related project activities.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to conduct cross-functional assessments of engineering solutions addressing current business requirements.

Ensure adherence to safety protocols for all maintenance tasks.

Stay informed on industry standards and trends related to facilities and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Prepare justifications for capital equipment purchases and manage the initiation of manufacturing and facilities equipment, as well as maintenance services.

Oversee the coordination of facility improvements and repairs to manufacturing equipment, utilities, buildings, and grounds.

Schedule and manage routine and non-routine work with external contractors.

Implement and comply with all safety practices, environmental regulations, and local building codes, along with cGMP standards.

Maintain an inventory of spare parts for production and facility equipment.

Perform a comprehensive range of maintenance tasks as required.


May need to work non-standard hours and weekends to complete tasks that could disrupt productivity in the affected area.

Respond to emergency calls outside of regular working hours.

Uphold fiduciary responsibilities for facilities; ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures.

Other responsibilities as assigned.

Must possess the ability to focus, analyze, and resolve complex issues throughout the workday.


Ability to operate a PC, including prolonged use of a keyboard and mouse.

Capability to sit and stand for extended periods, as well as bend, reach, and stoop during the workday.

May occasionally need to lift equipment or products weighing up to 40 pounds.

Willingness to travel by air or car to other locations as necessary.

May be required to work outside of standard business hours, including evenings, weekends, and emergency calls.

Must carry a company-provided mobile device to facilitate communication within the department during and after regular hours.

Physical demands may be significant, including outdoor work in extreme weather conditions for extended durations.

Must be capable of working at elevated heights.


Must be able to wear personal protective equipment as required in production areas (safety glasses, gloves, and respirators).

Ability to stand, stoop, reach, push, and pull carts/equipment throughout the work shift.

Must be able to drive to offsite locations and travel for maintenance duties.

Must be prepared to work extended shifts on short notice and participate in an on-call rotation for system monitoring.

Qualifications:
Associate degree or equivalent experience; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a skilled tradesperson.

At least 4+ years of management experience in a manufacturing setting is required. Previous experience managing a GMP or ISO 13485 regulated facility is preferred.

Minimum of 3+ years of experience managing facility-related projects is desirable.

Accountability for adhering to the budget for the facilities organization and staff.

Strong leadership, team-building, and organizational skills.

Ability to effectively lead and motivate staff to maintain exceptional support levels.

Ability to provide direct supervision and developmental opportunities for team members.

Highly motivated and adaptable to changing priorities.

Effectively manages time and sets priorities for direct reports to ensure daily tasks and multiple projects are completed on schedule.

Ability to respond quickly to understand, analyze, and resolve complex problems.

Ability to collaborate with multiple internal clients in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to read, comprehend, and adhere to all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines, ensuring staff compliance.

Must possess excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, problem-solving, and customer service skills.

Ability to maintain regular attendance and punctuality.

May be required to work outside of standard business hours (evenings and weekends) to meet departmental objectives.

On-call duties will be required (on a rotational basis) due to environmental and equipment monitoring activities.

Strong problem-solving skills, along with advanced electrical and mechanical troubleshooting abilities.

Basic computer skills (Word, Excel) are necessary.

Travel Required: 15%
