Datacenter Facilities Operations Specialist

xAI is seeking a skilled Datacenter Facilities Operations Technician to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the maintenance, operation, and repair of our datacenter facilities' MEP systems.
Responsibilities
* Ensure site safety and environmental compliance, aligning with local and regional health and safety requirements.
* Provide operational expertise for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems, including pumps, piping, chillers, cooling towers, CRAH units, wiring, lighting systems, generators, motors, water supply, UPS, and switchgear.
* Routinely inspect all areas to ensure performance measures are being maintained and proactively self-report any issues.
* Experience with writing and executing MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs.
* Available for occasional on-site emergency calls nights and weekends.
* Perform daily inspections of critical systems.
* Identify and maintain spare parts inventory to minimize downtime.
* Coordinate and supervise scheduled system shutdowns.
* Develop and implement energy monitoring metrics.
* Support commissioning efforts by witnessing equipment startup, assisting with functional testing, and monitoring construction progress.
Qualifications
* Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Relevant experience acceptable in lieu of degree).
* 3+ years of hands-on operations or facilities work experience (Data center experience preferred).
* Knowledge of mechanical or electrical engineering principles and systems (Both would be a huge plus).
* Experience and knowledge of all critical systems documentation, including Plans, Procedures, and Operations Manuals.
* Experience and knowledge of Building and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems and Operations.
* Strong troubleshooting skills.
* Experience with PLC-based control systems and/or Building Management Systems (Client).
* Excellent written and verbal communication and technical writing skills in English.
* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
* Ability to utilize hand tools and power tools as needed.
* Available to work different shifts providing 24x7 coverage.
Additional Requirements
* Position is subject to pre-employment drug and random drug and alcohol testing.

* Work is often performed in tight quarters, and physical dexterity is necessary to perform job functions.
* Ability to lift up to 35lbs unassisted.
* Comfortable working at elevated heights (up to 100 feet) with appropriate safety gear.
* Comfortable working in extreme outdoor environments (heat, cold, rain, etc.).
* Comfortable working in an environment requiring exposure to fumes, odors, and noise.
* Available to work evenings and weekends, as the schedule varies depending on site operational needs; flexibility is required.
* Willing to travel as needed (up to 10%).
* Valid driver's license.
Compensation and Benefits
* Pay Range: $74,880 - $104,000.
* Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
* Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at xAI.
