Job Summary

The Diagnostic Imaging Technologist plays a crucial role in the healthcare team by performing routine and complex imaging exams in assigned modalities. This includes a combination of X-ray, CT, MRI, Mammography, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, PET/CT, and Interventional Radiology. The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration of ionizing radiation for diagnostic exams, use of radiofrequencies, and/or multi-frequency sound waves for diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensures correct order is obtained, patient is properly identified and prepared for exam, and that clinical history is corroborated and appropriately documented while respecting confidentiality.
  • Utilizes appropriate imaging protocol and optimizes technical factors while maximizing patient safety, optimizing patient care, and applying principles of ALARA (As Low as Reasonably Achievable).
  • Preparing and/or administering, as applicable, medications through new or existing vascular access site as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
  • Evaluates images for proper positioning and acceptable technical quality and verifies archival storage and/or transfer of data, post processing of data if applicable.
  • Educating and monitoring students and other health care providers.
  • Applying principles of radiation safety, magnetic resonance safety, and/or ultrasound safety to minimize risk to patient, self, and others.
  • Assisting the licensed practitioner interventional procedures.
  • Performing imaging procedures as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
  • Selecting appropriate imaging parameters with consideration given to established protocols and other factors influencing data acquisition parameters.
Requirements
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB) or American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT) as a sonographer ARRT(S) or RDMS or CCI certification in medical sonography or RDCS certification in cardiac sonography or RVT certification as Vascular Technologist and at least one of the following specialty certifications: MRI, CT, PET, ARDMS or CCI or RDCS or RVT-specialty certification, VI or CI or CCI, Mammo.
  • Minimum of 3 years-Related work experience.
