Paraprofessional Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Paraprofessional to join our team at Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Oxnard and Port Hueneme. The successful candidate will provide instructional support and services to students with physical, mental, and/or developmental delays, under the general supervision of the instructor.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the instructor with classroom responsibilities, including preparing instructional materials and supervising students.
- Provide individual and small group instruction to students, as directed by the teacher.
- Assist with organization of reference and resource materials, room displays, and other classroom tasks.
- Take roll and keep attendance records, as needed.
- Assist in maintaining order in the classroom or on the playground.
- Operate audiovisual equipment and/or office machines, as required.
- Perform other routine duties as needed, including providing services to students with specialized needs.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; AA degree or higher preferred.
- One year of experience working with school-age children in an organized education, health, childcare, or other structured setting.
- Knowledge of basic principles and practices of child development and child guidance, as well as basic emergency, first aid, and health care techniques.
- Ability to lift children in and out of school buses, wheelchairs, braces, and other orthopedic equipment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently with minimal direction.
- Hourly rate: $22/hr
