Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nursing Assistant I to join our team in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) at UNC Health Care. As a Nursing Assistant I, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our patients and families.

Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians and other healthcare providers with routine examinations and procedures.
  • Provide direct and indirect patient care, including vital sign measurement, specimen collection, and skin preps/scrubs.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding.
  • Provide indirect care to patients and assigned areas, including cleaning, restocking supplies, and transporting patients/ supplies/ specimens.
  • Reinforce routine teaching given to patients by registered nurses or physicians and document patient understanding of instructions.
Requirements
  • Listing as Nursing Assistant I with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Prefer six (6) months of nursing assistant experience.
Work Environment

This is a Per Diem/ at-will position requiring the ability to work a minimum of 12 hours every 2 weeks. Shifts are for rotating day & night, 12 hours (7am-7:30pm & 7pm-7:30am) with weekend and holiday rotation.

Self-scheduling is used to meet the needs of the unit and the staff. Must be able to complete required hospital orientation (Monday through Thursday, 7:30am-5:00pm).
