Job SummaryThe ideal candidate will have past experience designing electrical power systems and mechanical cooling systems specifically for data centers. They will have in-depth knowledge of Electrical Power Distribution System design and installation, as well as experience with electrical equipment design, including Generators, UPS systems, and electrical switchgear. The candidate will also need to have mechanical cooling systems design, controls, energy storage microgrids, and solar experience.
Responsibilities- Manage and lead design projects, create designs and plans, provide and gather specifications, and execute assignments in a multidisciplinary MEP design role for small to medium-sized data center facility design projects.
- Create conceptual designs gathered from meetings.
- Oversee commissioning processes as needed.
- Work with management to respond to RFPs.
- Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within the boundaries of company policies.
- Represent the company in project meetings as needed.
- 8-15 years of experience in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a similar field.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a similar engineering degree.
- Licensed PE or EIT a plus.
- Previous experience using and reviewing Revit MEP projects, AutoCAD MEP, BIM a plus.
- Experience with electrical systems such as UPS, Generators, Switchgears, and Batteries a must.
- Experience with mechanical cooling systems such as CRAC, CRAH, Air Handlers, Chillers, etc. a plus.
- Experience with automation and controls.
- Solar and energy storage systems, microgrids a huge plus.
- Experience working on complex data center/mission-critical facilities design projects a must.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize well.
- Self-starter, self-motivated, and able to work effectively in a team environment.
