Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement individualized educational plans for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Provide instruction in various communication methods, including American Sign Language (ASL), as needed.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure an inclusive learning environment.
  • Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies to meet their needs.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to discuss student development and progress.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field.
  • Valid Georgia teaching certification with an endorsement or authorization in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education.
  • Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to teaching.
