Rivier University is seeking a skilled Switchboard Operator/Receptionist to join our team in the Learning Commons. As a key member of our administrative staff, you will be responsible for operating the central University switchboard, referring callers to the appropriate office or personnel, and responding to a variety of inquiries with accuracy.

The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills, as well as relevant switchboard/telephone and reception experience. You will serve as the receptionist for the Learning Commons, referring visitors to appropriate offices and performing a variety of routine support tasks for the building.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Operating the central switchboard, answering incoming calls, and connecting callers to the proper offices and personnel
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date information on University offices, events, programs, and procedures to answer inquiries in an efficient and accurate manner
  • Serving as receptionist for the Learning Commons, referring visitors to appropriate offices, and performing routine support tasks
  • Picking up mail each day and distributing it to offices in the building
  • Performing a variety of support tasks for the Office of University Advancement, including data entry, mailing preparation, and event materials preparation

Typical qualifications include a high school diploma, relevant switchboard/telephone and reception experience, excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills, and basic administrative support experience.
