Job Summary

The Army National Guard Units is seeking a highly skilled Supply Technician to join our team. As a key member of our logistics section, you will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the accomplishment of work performed in the area of logistics.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide technical guidance to subordinate units, the headquarters logistics section, or other staff sections concerning logistics and maintenance management.
  2. Schedule and provide proficiency training for logistical personnel within the command.
  3. Plan and provide guidance for the implementation of current and future equipment authorization documents.
  4. Perform oversight and random reviews of subordinate unit expendable/durable requisitions.
  5. Conduct reviews for requirement validity and availability of funds in accordance with regulation and the commander's priorities.
  6. Ensure that non-expendable quantities are commensurate with authorized levels of current or future authorization documents.
  7. Maintain current due-in status of back orders and communicate to the command when critical mission items will be available.
  8. Monitor and review Shortage/Overage Annexes to ensure all expendable/durable items are on hand or requisitioned.
  9. Conduct supply and maintenance discipline inspections and other like evaluations of subordinate logistical operations.
  10. Conduct and/or coordinate assistance visits in the areas of supply and maintenance.
  11. Audit personal clothing records at subordinate elements.
  12. Monitor organizational clothing and individual equipment (OCIE) reports to ensure the completion of supply actions of subordinate units.
  13. Inspect OCIE records for procedural completeness, accountability, accuracy, and agreement with automated management systems.
  14. Report trends and critical problem areas to appropriate command levels.
  15. Direct the coordination of lateral transfers of excess clothing and equipment within the organization.
  16. Recommend the distribution of newly assigned equipment to subordinate units.
  17. Assist in the development of command logistics policies.
  18. Consolidate and input unit level logistics feeder information into the organizational readiness report.
  19. Prepare logistics plans for scheduled training and deployments.
  20. Coordinate for the receipt and issue of billeting, equipment, and supplies for training.
  21. Review all Reports of Survey, Cash Collections, and Statements of Charges for property loss or damage.
  22. Review and forward adjustment documents.
  23. Monitor high priority requisitions; review on-hand levels of equipment; manage equipment excess and shortages; review and direct transfers of equipment; and ensure continuous coordination of logistical matters.
  24. Coordinate the receipt, inventory, and issue of new equipment fielded to the organization.
  25. Initiate and/or forward convoy requests, movement plans, and transportation requests to move equipment and personnel.
  26. Prepare reports, schedules repair or maintenance, and requests replacement of GSA vehicles.
  27. Review, establish suspense, and forward logistics correspondence and documents.
  28. Be the Commander's primary technical specialist regarding food service operations.
  29. Review and forward subsistence requests and consumption reports.
  30. Be responsible for adjusting the scheduled meal menus.
  31. Review AT and IDT food service records and issue necessary guidance to logistical and food service personnel.
  32. Coordinate for higher level food service assistance.
  33. May be required to serve as a member of a food service menu board.
  34. Forecast, prepare requests, and coordinate receipt of bulk and package petroleum, oil, and lubricants (POL).
  35. Coordinate and complete turn-in actions for POL.
  36. Prepare or assist in the preparation of ammunition requests.
  37. Coordinate and conduct the receipt, issue, and turn-in of ammunition and residue.
  38. Reconcile and forward records of ammunition usage for the purpose of reforecasting.
  39. Monitor the implementation of the approved medical formulary for subordinate units.
  40. Oversee the request, issue, and turn-in of medical supplies.
  41. May function as the reviewer for local purchases made with government credit cards.
  42. Establish logistical correspondence and filing procedures for the organization.

Requirements

  • Current permanent and indefinite T32 technicians of the Oregon ARNG.
  • Current permanent and indefinite T5 employees of the Oregon ARNG.
  • Current service members in the Oregon ARNG.

Qualifications

  • Work involving supervising or performing clerical or technical supply support work necessary to ensure the effective operation of ongoing supply activities.
  • Work is performed in a wide range of systematized supply operations, such as performing administrative functions in inventory, storage, cataloging, receipt, and control processes.
  • Experience, education, or training in a variety of operations or situations concerned with substance or content of supply actions, requiring ability to decide course of action to take, considering the circumstances or conditions encountered.
  • Knowledge of basic or commonly applied rules, procedures, or operations such as, filling out, posting, filing, controlling, or coding documents and/or transactions.
  • Experience using computer and automation systems.
  • Must have at least 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS
  • Knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions applicable to the specific assignment.
  • Experience conducting searches for required information; reconstruct records for supply transactions; and/or provide supply operations support for activities involving specialized or unique supplies, equipment, and parts.
  • Experience performing various aspects of supply specialist work based on practical knowledge of standard procedures, where assignments include individual case problems related to segments in one or more major areas of supply management.
  • Experience which required person-to-person contacts to convey information and ability to compile reports, letters, memoranda, etc.
  • Consistent with the grade level determining duties in the position description, higher grade level specialized experience may include experience controlling supply stocks and accounting for equipment, cataloging, maintenance, and disposal procedures.
  • Completing complex supply transactions; and/or providing supply operations support.
  • Experience coordinating with other organizations on complex and controversial supply issues.
  • Experience analyzing, developing, evaluating to improve supply programs, policies, procedures, techniques, etc.
  • Knowledge on the entire inventory management supply system.
  • Experience providing advice and guidance on supply regulations to upper levels of management regarding supply functions.
