Magnetic Resonance Imaging Specialist

UPMC is seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our team. As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for performing imaging procedures at a technical level, requiring independent judgment and initiative for diagnostic purposes.
Responsibilities- Maintain clinical competency for all exams and equipment.
- Identify patients properly using two patient identifiers and utilize universal protocol when performing procedures.
- Review patient history and assess physician orders, applying specific departmental protocols for optimal results in the acquisition of data.
- Document patient history in electronic records as required.
- Ensure all exams are properly coded and tracked through the RIS system, and all patient information is updated and documented in Rad Assessment.
- Practice and maintain MR safety in the department.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills and interact with patients and co-workers in a caring and respectful manner.
- Work as a team member to expedite patient care efficiently.
- Graduate of an ARRT-approved school of Radiologic Technology or completion of an accredited CNMT, ARMIT, or ARDMS program.
- Must obtain MR registry within 18 months of hire date.
- CPR or BLS certification required.
- ARRT Certificate or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT) or Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTC) or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) certification required.
