Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization in assigned facilities, including classrooms, offices, gym, restrooms, multipurpose rooms, and break rooms.
  • Clean and maintain facilities using a variety of methods, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing, buffing, waxing, shampooing, and washing.
  • Manage and maintain supplies and equipment, including cleaning solutions, paper products, vacuums, paper towels, soap, mops, and other necessary items.
  • Perform summer maintenance tasks, such as stripping and waxing floors, moving furniture, and painting, to prepare facilities for the upcoming year.

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous custodial experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, equipment, and supplies.
  • Ability to estimate quantities and types of materials and supplies needed.
  • Ability to maintain simple records and prepare routine reports.
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions in English.
  • Ability to maintain cooperative relations with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Ability to perform work in a safe and efficient manner.

Physical Requirements:

  • Knowledge of routine hand and power tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and reach, and perform repetitive movements, such as vacuuming or mopping.
  • Ability to use a ladder.
