The National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Development to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in driving our fundraising efforts, ensuring financial stability, and supporting our mission to create opportunities for people to build wealth.
About the RoleThis is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic organization at a pivotal moment in its history. With a 30-year track record of success, NCRC has launched an ambitious strategic plan to guide its course for the next 5 years. As Director of Development, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising plan to secure the necessary resources to fulfill our mission.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute a detailed annual fundraising plan to meet or exceed financial goals.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with major donors, corporate sponsors, and foundations.
- Plan and execute special events, such as galas, auctions, and benefit concerts.
- Manage donor communications, including personalized thank-you letters, newsletters, and annual reports.
- Assist in creating compelling content for print, digital, and social media platforms.
- Lead the development team and provide strategic direction and day-to-day management.
- Prepare and present comprehensive reports on fundraising activities and progress to senior leadership and the board of directors.
- 10 years of relevant experience required with a successful track record in closing six- and seven-figure+ gifts.
- 3-5 years of supervisory experience required.
- A bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field preferred.
- Applied understanding of basic fundraising principles and development best practices.
- Strong prospect identification and qualification skills.
- Experience with online fundraising, email marketing, and internet research.
- Proven track record of meeting fundraising goals and securing major gifts.
- Strong experience developing and maintaining a grants management database.
- Outstanding project management, organizational, and time management skills.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading ability.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
