Secure World Foundation Seeks Director of Development

The Secure World Foundation is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the secure and sustainable use of outer space for the benefit of all humanity. We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director of Development to join our team and help advance our mission through strategic fundraising efforts.

About the Role

The Director of Development will be responsible for leading our fundraising program, identifying and pursuing new funding opportunities, and building relationships with key stakeholders. This is a full-time, hybrid position that requires a few days in the office each week and adheres to a regular remote work schedule. The successful candidate will report directly to the Executive Director and work closely with the Chair of the Board of Directors and other members of the Board.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to achieve our annual fundraising goals
  • Identify, qualify, cultivate, and solicit major gifts from individuals, foundations, and corporations
  • Research and write grant proposals to secure funding from government agencies and private foundations
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, board members, and other partners
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director and Board to plan and execute fundraising events and activities
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of donor interactions, gifts, and other fundraising activities
Requirements
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in non-profit fundraising, with a proven track record of success in securing major gifts
  • Strong knowledge of philanthropy trends and best practices
  • Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
What We Offer

The Secure World Foundation offers a competitive salary range of $145,000-$160,000, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including paid holiday, vacation, and sick time, 401(k) with employer match, health insurance, vision, and dental insurance.
