Position Summary

DLA Piper is in search of a senior-level associate or counsel to join its Financial Regulatory and Technology Group (FRTG). This group addresses innovative issues related to bank regulation, consumer protection, non-bank and fintech operations, digital assets, and payment systems.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
  • Admitted to practice in Washington, D.C.
Experience Requirements
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in a law firm or financial institution.
  • Experience at an AmLaw 100 law firm is essential.
  • Background in financial institutions is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in advising on financial regulatory issues related to banking operations, payments, and online financial services, including ACH and NACHA transactions.
  • Expertise in consumer and commercial finance, including residential mortgage lending, auto finance, and retail installment sales contracts.
  • Experience in investment brokerage activities.
  • Knowledge of electronic contracting and the transition of financial products and services to a digital framework.
  • Familiarity with a wide array of federal and state regulations applicable to financial services institutions, such as consumer compliance laws, anti-money laundering laws, ESIGN, UETA, and the Uniform Commercial Code.

Work Environment

This position involves a hybrid work model with some in-office responsibilities and occasional travel.

Compensation

The anticipated annual salary range for this role is $390,000 - $435,000, contingent upon various factors such as geographic market, skills, educational background, and overall qualifications. A comprehensive benefits package is included.
