Position Overview
DLA Piper is in search of a senior-level associate or counsel to join its Financial Regulatory and Technology Group (FRTG). This group addresses innovative matters related to bank regulation, consumer protection, non-bank entities, fintech, digital assets, and payment systems.
A presence in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area is highly preferred, though not mandatory.
Qualifications
Education:
- Juris Doctor (JD)
Bar Admission:
- Must be admitted to practice in Washington, D.C.
Experience:
- A minimum of 7 years of experience at a law firm and/or financial institution.
- Direct experience with an AmLaw 100 law firm is essential.
- Experience within a financial institution is preferred.
- Proficiency in advising on financial regulatory issues related to banking operations, payments, and online financial services, including ACH and NACHA transactions.
- Experience in consumer and commercial finance, including residential mortgage lending, auto finance, and retail installment sales contracts.
- Knowledge of investment brokerage activities.
- Experience in electronic contracting and the digital transformation of financial products and services.
- Familiarity with a wide range of federal and state laws and regulations applicable to financial services institutions, such as consumer compliance laws, anti-money laundering laws, ESIGN, UETA, and the Uniform Commercial Code.

Compensation:
The anticipated annual salary for this role in Washington, DC ranges from $390,000 to $435,000. Compensation will be determined based on various factors, including geographic market, skills, educational background, experience, and overall qualifications. A comprehensive benefits package is offered, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a 401(k) plan.
