Human Resources Generalist

The Human Resources Generalist will play a pivotal role in supporting a wide range of human resources duties, including onboarding and orientation, recruitment, performance management, compliance, record retention and management, and other Human Resource matters. This candidate MUST be SHRM certified to be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain accurate digital and paper HR files, including personnel, benefits, I-9's, and other confidential departmental files.
  • Support the HR Manager with the recruitment process, including posting jobs to internal and external recruitment sites, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, setting up interview arrangements for candidates, conducting interviews, checking references, and conducting background checks.
  • Manage employee access for training and other online systems.
  • Coordinate HR initiatives to support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion strategic plan.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for all HR related inquiries and concerns via phone and email, as well as HR sponsored events and meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field. SHRM certification required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of Human Resources experience. Prior non-profit and/or association work experience is preferred.
  • 1 year of full cycle recruitment experience.
  • Excellent critical thinking/problem solving skills and customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Skilled at managing time and multiple priorities to carry out assignments in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Must be self-directed and can use independent judgement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with a wide range of personalities and manage conflict in a professional, productive manner.
  • Knowledge of human resources processes and best practices.
  • Commitment to professional and ethical standards.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent computer skills and experience with MS Office Suite programs (i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Ability to utilize software and work with databases.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems (Paycom experience preferred).
