Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans for students with disabilities
  • Administer medication to students according to board policy and district procedures
  • Conduct health assessments, including screenings for health factors impacting student education
  • Provide first aid and CPR/AED as needed
  • Assist in the formation of health policies, procedures, and goals for the school district
Requirements
  • Associate's degree from an accredited professional nursing education program
  • Valid registered nurse license from the State of Texas Board of Nursing
  • Current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillator (AED)
  • Minimum of two years of nursing experience in community health, ambulatory care, school health, or other related fields
Working Conditions

The School Nurse will work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with students, teachers, and parents. The position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

The School Nurse will be required to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

The position is a 190-day contract, with a salary range of $62,995/BA, $63,495/MA, $63,995/PHD (based on previous experience).
