Job Title: School Nurse

Alief Independent School District is seeking a qualified School Nurse to join our team at Liestman Elementary.

Job Summary:

The School Nurse will provide healthcare services to students, staff, and faculty, ensuring a safe and healthy learning environment. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans for students with disabilities.
  • Administer medication to students according to board policy and district procedures.
  • Conduct health assessments, including screenings for health factors impacting student education.
  • Provide first aid and CPR as needed.
  • Assist in the formation of health policies, procedures, and goals for the school district.
  • Collaborate with special education teachers to implement IEPs for students with special needs.
  • Attend ARD/IEP meetings as needed.
  • Maintain current clinical skills and competence.
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree from an accredited professional nursing education program.
  • Valid registered nurse license from the State of Texas Board of Nursing.
  • Current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillator (AED).
  • Minimum of two years of nursing experience in community health, ambulatory care, school health, or other related fields.
Working Conditions:

The School Nurse will work in a fast-paced school environment, interacting with students, staff, and faculty. The role requires frequent standing, sitting, and walking, as well as the ability to lift and carry moderate weights.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this position is $62,995/BA, $63,495/MA, $63,995/PHD (based on previous experience). The district offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as retirement plans.
