Your expertise will be utilized to operate computer-driven machines that cut glass to specification, utilizing automated mechanisms to load and cut glass to size.
Key Responsibilities:
Enter scheduling information into the computer and select glass panes to be cut, automating the cutting mechanism
Follow instructions on monitors, select and place cut pieces of glass in the correct cart, and discard excess glass
Maintain a clean cutting table after each sheet is complete, ensuring a well-maintained workspace and completing other housekeeping duties
Adhere to all safety standards, wearing full Personal Protective Equipment at all times
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience in an assembly-line or manufacturing environment
Ability to stand for prolonged periods, with good hand-eye coordination and gripping strength
Ability to lift up to 50lbs occasionally and 15-30lb frequently during the shift
Must be able to work a 40-hour work week, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required
Ability to read and comprehend English language
Work Environment:
The position will primarily work in a manufacturing plant environment, where moving machinery produces noise. Employees must wear Personal Protective Equipment issued for that location. Temperature can range from extreme cold to extreme heat. Physical demands may include standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, climbing, pushing/pulling, forward bending, reaching, kneeling, crouching, squatting, crawling, postural balancing, manipulating, trunk rotation, handling, gripping, and talking (hearing).
