Executive Director Job Description

Wolf Park is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director to lead our organization in its mission to enhance public awareness of wolves and their ecological significance in nature.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the administration, programs, and strategic plan of Wolf Park
  • Develop and implement fundraising strategies to support the organization's mission
  • Collaborate with the Board of Directors to ensure the organization's mission is fulfilled
  • Provide effective administration of Wolf Park operations, including hiring, retaining, and supervising staff
  • Authorize documents on behalf of the organization

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Three or more years related nonprofit experience preferred
  • Proven budget management skills, including budget preparation, analysis, decision-making, and reporting
  • Superior problem-solving, analytical, quantitative, organizational, and project management skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to take initiative to solve problems, assume responsibility, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to represent the park with tact and diplomacy at all times
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Competency conveying a vision of Wolf Park's strategic future to staff, board, volunteers, and donors
  • Knowledge of fundraising and donor relations strategies unique to the nonprofit sector
  • Experience providing guidance and motivation for board members, staff, and volunteers
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to interface and engage with diverse volunteer and donor groups
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee and collaborate with staff
  • Strong public speaking ability
  • Knowledge of progressive animal welfare strategies and trends with understanding of the daily functions of animal care
  • Understanding of and appreciation for conservation of wildlife species and ecosystems
