Our extensive team of over 200 oncologists, hematologists, and staff across multiple locations is driven by a shared goal: transforming the landscape of cancer and blood disorder treatment. With state-of-the-art therapies, pioneering research, and a commitment to patient-centered care, we are at the forefront of modern healthcare.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support across various NYCBS locations as required.
- Adhere to all established policies and procedures of New York Cancer and Blood Specialists.
- Maintain and update electronic patient records while assisting in the digitization of paper records.
- Document patient details, including vital signs, weight, and any changes in medical history prior to appointments.
- Prepare and sanitize examination rooms before patient visits.
- Manage front office responsibilities, including answering calls and welcoming patients.
- Assist in inventory management and order supplies as necessary.
- Measure and record vital signs accurately.
- Conduct patient interviews to gather medical history and chief complaints.
- Educate patients on medications, disease management, home care, and dietary needs.
- Prepare patients for examinations and conduct routine screening tests.
- Support physicians during examinations.
- Perform phlebotomy and collect various lab specimens.
- Conduct basic laboratory tests.
- Administer EKGs.
- Dispense and document medications as per physician directives, ensuring adherence to the five medication rights to minimize errors.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned.
- Valid NYS LPN license is mandatory.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is essential.
- Prior experience in a leadership role or the ability to demonstrate leadership potential.
- Exhibit consistent professionalism and attention to detail.
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, along with excellent interpersonal abilities with patients, staff, and healthcare professionals.
- Familiarity with OncoEMR is preferred.
- Willingness to travel to various NYCBS locations.
Competitive salary up to $36 per hour based on experience. Comprehensive benefits package including Tuition Reimbursement, Health Insurance from day one, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short and Long-term disability, 401k Plan, generous PTO, and 8 paid holidays (2 floating) among others.
