Job Summary

This position supports the activities of the Enterprise Risk Management Committee at Alerus Financial. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining enterprise risk monitoring and reporting systems, conducting divisional risk assessments, providing analytical support to finance and risk areas, and coordinating operational risk functions.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Divisional Risk Monitoring and Reporting
  • Analyze and monitor divisional risk profiles to identify potential threats and opportunities.
  • Conduct divisional risk reviews in accordance with established enterprise risk review program.
  • Monitor divisional Key Risk Indicators and investigate and report on threshold breaches.
  • Support analysis for stress testing and capital allocation.
  • Investigate incidents and monitor findings through remediation.
Operational Risk Management Functions
  • Coordinate Business Continuity Planning process and documentation.
  • Support Model Risk Management program.
  • Evaluate Risk Acceptance requests and recommend appropriate action.
  • Support estimation of Allowances for Loan and Lease Losses.
  • Facilitate New Product Risk Assessments with management.
Administrative Support for Enterprise Risk Management Committee
  • Track issues through remediation.
  • Maintain the company's Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance systems.
  • Periodically update risk appetite statements.
  • Assist with ERM Meeting prep and minutes.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience with lending, financial services operations management, financial institution risk management, or related capacities.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

Physical Demands

The employee will be required to:

  • Occasional standing, walking, and reaching with arms and hands.
  • Close vision required.
  • Periodically, may also do light lifting of supplies and materials which weighs in at approximately 20 lbs.
  • Will spend most of time in an indoor environment.
