About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional II to join our team at Redwood Family Care Network. As a Direct Support Professional II, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities to achieve their goals and live fulfilling lives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement daily routines for clients, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
  • Support clients in achieving their Individual Program Plan (IPP) goals, promoting independence and self-advocacy.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment for clients, adhering to health and safety protocols.
  • Encourage socialization and participation in leisure and recreation activities, fostering positive relationships with family and friends.
  • Assist clients with personal care, including grooming, bathroom needs, and changing undergarments or clothing as needed.
  • Prepare daily meals and assist with clean-up, promoting healthy eating habits.
  • Transport clients in company vans, ensuring safe and timely arrival at destinations.
  • Report incidents or problems, communicating daily with administrators to ensure seamless service delivery.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 1 year of professional or personal experience in caregiving, preferably supporting individuals with developmental disabilities or mental illnesses with challenging behaviors.
  • Direct Support Professional Certificate (Year 1 & Year 2) and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification preferred or willingness to obtain within the first 6 months of hire.
  • First Aid/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain within 30 days of employment.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a California Driver's License.
  • Candidates must pass a background check and meet all pre-employment requirements.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to push, pull, or lift up to 50lbs.
  • Able to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
