What You'll Do:
As a Direct Support Professional at K's Kare Home, you'll play a key role in the daily lives of our residents, helping them reach their personal goals and live with dignity. You'll provide hands-on support, build strong relationships, and contribute to an environment where both residents and staff can thrive.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist residents with everyday tasks like bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene.
  • Provide medication assistance in accordance with Title 22 Section 85075.2, ensuring medications are taken as prescribed and stored securely, monitoring health, and ensuring a safe environment.
  • Encourage residents to participate in community activities, outings, and events.
  • Assist residents in developing life skills such as cooking, cleaning, and budgeting.
  • Observe and document resident behaviors, medication administration, and health updates.
  • Keep accurate records of daily activities, resident progress, and health updates.
  • Provide residents with nutritious meals daily, prepared according to their dietary needs.
  • Collaborate with fellow staff members, supervisors, and healthcare professionals to ensure residents receive the best possible care.
  • Participate in training and meetings as directed.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures.

Requirements:
  • 1 year of Direct Support Professional experience is required, but we're open to training the right candidate.
  • 1 year experience working with developmentally disabled adults and/or human services/behavioral health field preferred.
  • Ability to meet licensing requirements for working with developmentally disabled/mentally populations or any equivalent combination of directly related education and experience.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, perform standard First Aid, perform CPR, perform Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI), and observe person served rights.
  • State of California Community Care Licensing Fingerprint Clearance and Department of Justice.
  • High school diploma or GED required.

Certifications:
  • DSP 1.
  • CPI Training.
  • First Aid/ AED (can obtain this before start date).
  • DSP 2 will be required within the first year (training provided).
  • A valid California driver's license and clean driving record are preferred.

Qualities:
  • A caring, positive attitude and a strong desire to help others.
  • Great communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a supportive team.
  • Physical ability to assist with mobility and lifting, as needed.

Shifts and Hours:
  • Part time and Full time positions.
  • Morning, Evening and Night Shift.
